Unknown Star Wars clip in Stargate Studios 2018 Showreel

Stargate Studios is a well known American post-production studio founded in 1989 by cinematographer and special visual effects supervisor Sam Nicholson.

In a recent demo reel for their clients released back in April of 2018 this clip of a star wars related video was at the end of it. It is not from any known star wars movie to date. Also knowing Stargate Studios’ work on TV shows could this be a clip for pre-production test shots for the new Star Wars live action TV show, being helmed by headed up by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, or is it from some sort of Disney World star wars ride?

FiOS customer shows Verizon does serious throttling shenanigans with Netflix

FiOS subscriber Colin Nederkoorn, a startup CEO who resides in New York City, pays for FiOS Internet that promised service of 75 Mbps download and 35 Mbps upload. However, his Netflix video streams were limping along at just 375 kbps (0.375mbps). Which is about only 0.5 percent of the speed he’s paying for.  So on a lark he decided to connect to a Virtual Private Network service. What Nederkoorn found was that through this encrypted extra hop, which in all other cases would slow down network performance he saw nearly a 10x increase in Netflix performance.

So Verizon, you got a lot of explaining to do! Continue reading
